The historic Senator Mary Strong Kinney home in Lewis & Clark in Astoria, Oregon is on the market, and the co-listing broker and I invited the local Lower Columbia Preservation League to have their August meeting at the house. We provided wine and appetizers, and some history and information about the home. John Goodenberger a well-known preservationists in our area, and speaker on the topic of preservation and architecture, is also the author of "Astorians, Eccentric and Extraordinary". John gave a great presentation about the Senator, her involvement in the community, commerce, legislation, and family. John not only talked about "what is this home", but "the who" that created it... The home was filled with those who are passionate about preservation of homes such as these, and present the opportunity for a wealth of information for anyone who comes to this community and becomes the next "Steward" of this amazing property. In closing....a good time was had by all...:)
